What is Pixel technology?

Pixel is the next generation of laser skin resurfacing that helps to improve skin texture, tone and firmness, smoothes wrinkles, and reduces pore size and scars (including acne scars) without the downtime and discomfort associated with other resurfacing lasers. This FDA-approved treatment represents the best of both worlds for skin resurfacing: it combines the proven effectiveness of an ablative approach with the client comfort level and convenience of a non-ablative approach.

How it works

Pixel skin resurfacing is based upon the principle of micro-thermal treatment zones:

  1. The laser pulses create tiny holes in the skin, removing the epidermis and upper dermis.
  2. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue.
  3. The procedure treats small zones of the skin, leaving surrounding tissue untouched and intact.
  4. The result is new, healthier, smoother tissue in place of skin imperfections.
  5. Pixel Technology can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands. The Pixel is especially useful for treating the neck and chest. These areas are not easily treated with traditional skin resurfacing lasers without high probability of injury or scaring.

How does the treatment feel?

There is virtually no pain during the treatment. Afterwards the patient feels a mild to medium sun burn for a few hours or as much as a day.

How many treatments are required to receive the optimal result?

Improvement occurs after just one session, but ideally three to five sessions are required for optimal results. Treatments are spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.

A typical treatment takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of areas treated.
