Non- Invasive- No Downtime- Immediate Results

The photo facial is one of our most universal multi-application anti-aging services. Photo-rejuvenation of the face and body produces even-toned skin that reveals a more youthful appearance. Photo facials remove skin damage and address a series of unwanted skin conditions.

Sun exposure and stresses of life, along with environmental pollutants and the passage of time will cause negative changes to occur upon the skin. These conditions are especially apparent on the face, neck, chest & hands.

SOME EXAMPLES OF CONDITIONS TREATED WITH PHOTO FACIALS:

  • Pigmented Freckles and Age Spots (often incorrectly referred to as liver spots)
  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • Broken Capillaries & Red Flushing Skin
  • Rosacea & Redness (facial veins)
  • Sun and Smoke Damage
  • Superficial Acne Scars
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Dull Complexion
  • Uneven Coloration

Photo Facials are non-invasive, effective and an affordable way to treat the above skin conditions. Photo Facials are performed through the use of Intense Pulse Light technology (IPL).

Be a savvy consumer…Not all Photo Facials are alike!

Rx Skin Clinic utilizes AFT™ technology when performing a photo facial. AFT™ or Advanced Fluorescent Technology is the newest most innovative way of processing the light that is used to improve your skin. This technology maximizes the amount of light delivered to skin by converting otherwise unusable light emitted from the device to usable light energy. This means you will receive more light for a more aggressive treatment. More light per treatment means you will need less treatments (less expense) to receive the ultimate result your skin requires. AFT also delivers the light at significantly lower temperatures to your skin so the treatment is safer than other technologies.

Photo Facials and how they function

A photo facial is applied via a series of gentle light pulses over a specific treatment area. As the light impacts the skin it is absorbed by small surface blood vessels or pigmentation. The light is discriminating, meaning it is processed to seek & destroy skin damage while remaining neutral to healthy skin. The heat generated by the absorbed energy causes damage to the vessels or pigmented areas stimulating the body’s own natural healing processes. Pigmented lesions will typically darken then lighten or completely disappear. Unsightly vessels often disappear instantly! Some of the photo facial light is designed to reach deeper into the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin for the purpose of firming and lifting skin.

How are the treatments performed?

A cool clear water based gel is applied to the skin prior to the treatment. Dark protective glasses or laser eye patches will be provided to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth tip of the photo facial handpiece is applied to the treatment area where a pulse of light is emitted. A slight sting may be felt – similar to the light snap of a rubber band. To eliminate the majority of this sensation refrigerated filtered air is applied to the treatment site simultaneously with the treatment. The treatment is generally administered in a series of three to five procedures that typically take 20 minutes per body part. There is no “down-time” associated with a photo facial. You may return to work and assume all normal activities immediately after your treatment. It is recommended to limit heavy doses of sun light for two days after your treatment. This would include extended activities in the sun such as golf or hiking. It is also recommended to use sunscreen regularly to limit further sun damage and pre-mature aging.
